How To Choose Your Chain Length

Necklaces are worn at different lengths depending on the style of the necklace but also what you are wearing it with. The same style necklace looks VERY different if you wear it as a choker versus worn longer down the front of your dress.

These images shows where necklaces fall around an average woman's neck.  The model is a size small for shirts, is 5'4" and a bust size B.  Women with larger necks and/or busts should typically go up one size for a similar fit.

14” - “Collar” necklace.  This size is good for children, young adults and petite women as a collar/choker.

15” - This is the most common size for a choker necklace for most adults.  Our tiny mantra necklaces are typically this length.

16” For most adults this length falls just above the collarbone.  A small pendant would nestle in the hollow of your neck.  This necklace is common for pieces that don’t have a focal point, like our layering chainsThis length is standard length for a petite sized woman.

18” The most common length.  For the average woman this falls just below the collarbone.  For more petite women it will fit lower.  This length is the standard length for an average sized woman.  This length is popular for adding pendants which will hang over a crew neck.

*All of our necklaces that come on standard chains have the capability to be both 16" and 18" - see picture below.

20” This length is a good option for pendants.  This falls between your collarbone and your bust. This is another great every day wear option.  Perfect for a low, plunging neckline or if you want to wear it over a turtleneck.

22” / 24” These lengths fall somewhere on/in your bust.  These lengths are the standard size for a plus size woman

30” A longer necklace, you can slip a 30" over your head and wear with evening wear
