Iridescent lunar white moonstone is accented at center with a pop of happy, bright opal "stripes". Named after Marge Calhoun, who became the one of the first woman's world champion surfers when she won the Makaha International competition on the Hawaiian island of Oahu in 1958 at age 32. Born in Hollywood in 1924, she spent her childhood weekends with her family on Venice Beach and Santa Monica, practicing swimming and diving. She was a comeptitive swimmer and waterwoman, until taking up surfing in the 1950's. In 1961 she became a co-founder of the United States Surfing Association, and her surfing legacy was carried on by her two daughters, Candy and Robin.
