Hawkins Turquoise Slice pendant necklace
Hawkins Turquoise Slice pendant necklace
Our Turquoise slice pendant necklace dangles delicately from interconnected golden linked rings, which move freely as you move. The necklace takes its name after Mary Ann Hawkins, an early pioneer in women's surfing. She joined the YMCA when she was six to learn how to swim, and - inspired in large part by waterman and surf legend Duke Kahanamoku - she began training and taking part in swimming competitions at a young age. Hawkins won the Pacific Coast Women's Surfboard Championships in 1938, 1939 and 1940, and went on to serve as a stunt double for many Hollywood productions.
